We ensure the numbers conform to a basic standard set by the U.S Coast Guard. Character is 3" tall. The customer is responsible for correct placement, requesting an appropriate color, and communicating the registration number.
 
Under U.S. Coast Guard regulations (33 CFR Part 173), basic display standards apply nationwide: Placement: Both sides of the forward half (bow) of the hull. Size: Minimum of 3 inches in height. Font: Plain, vertical block letters and numbers (no script or italics). Color: Must strongly contrast with the background hull color. Spacing: Groupings must be separated by spaces or hyphens.
